ABOUT THE EVENT:
Dayton is going to have its first ever LEGO convention when the BrickUniverse LEGO Fan Convention arrives to the Dayton Convention Center in downtown Dayton for two days: August 18-19, 2018. The event is building on LEGO's amazing popularity and ingenuity with awesome attractions all centered around everybody’s favorite plastic building blocks.
At past events, the team at BrickUniverse has witnessed thousands of LEGO fans show up to enjoy live LEGO builds, the Building Zone with thousands of LEGO bricks for attendees to build with, and select galleries of amazing and lifesized LEGO models. Professional LEGO artist Jonathan Lopes will be coming from San Diego, California to showcase over 30 of his select LEGO displays including an 8-foot high LEGO Model of New York City's Woolworth Building. He will be in attendance all weekend and will be able to talk to attendees on his life as a professional LEGO artist and how they, too, can be LEGO master builders.
Additionally, Chicago-based LEGO artist Rocco Buttliere will be bringing over 50 massive LEGO models of famous landmarks from around the world. See the largest skyscraper in the world, Burj Khalifa, the full Westminster Palace in London, and more famous landmarks all built from LEGO bricks! About the President's Club
The Presidents Club of Dayton was founded in 1932 by a group of local business leaders who sought to support and stimulate volunteer servant leadership in the Miami Valley through citizens’ active participation in service clubs, churches, schools, non-profit organizations and government. The organization’s leadership and work of advocating and championing volunteer community service have continued without interruption for more than 80 years.
About the 2018 Honoree
The Presidents Club of Dayton has announced that Jenell R. Ross is the 68th recipient of the region’s 2018 Citizen Legion of Honor award. The award, given every year since 1951, is the oldest, most continuous and prestigious recognition of volunteer servant leadership in the Dayton region. Jenell Ross is the President of Bob Ross Auto Group, a second-generation leader of the area’s 44-year business where she accepted that role in 1997. Ms. Ross has successfully guided that multiple-franchise dealership where she has also served as a member of the National Automobile Dealers Association; the National Association of Minority Automobile Dealers; General Motors and Chrysler Minority Dealers Associations; and served as the 2013 Chairwoman of The American International Automobile Dealers Association (AIADA) as the first minority and second woman to ever hold that office. Ms. Ross has been very active in our community, serving on numerous boards including the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance; Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce; Dayton Development Coalition; Dayton/Montgomery County Convention & Visitors Bureau; Central State University Foundation Board and many others. She is currently on the Cincinnati Branch of the Federal Reserve Board of Cleveland; the Board of the University of Dayton; and the Minority Business Partnership of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce. Jenell established the Norma J. Ross Foundation in honor of her mother who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2010.
